Highline is a slower way to discover the outdoors
The Highline Collective was built because we believed the best brands deserved a better way to be discovered.
After years spent building brands, launching products, and working across the outdoor industry, we kept returning to the same observation: there had never been more remarkable outdoor companies, yet discovering them had somehow become more difficult.
New companies emerge every day. Recommendations are endless. Inspiration is always within reach. Yet meaningful discovery often feels harder than ever.
Not because there are too many great brands, but because everything competes for our attention at once. We live in a world optimized for speed. More products. More content. More recommendations.
Yet the things that leave the biggest impression rarely reveal themselves all at once.
A trail becomes meaningful because you've returned to it enough times to know its character. A favorite song reveals something new, years after you first heard it. A place becomes important because of the memories attached to it, not because of a single visit.
The best brands often work the same way.
They aren't always the loudest or the most visible. They're the ones built with conviction, shaped by a clear point of view, and remembered because someone took the time to understand them.
That's the kind of discovery we wanted to create space for.
Highline exists to slow the experience down; not to make discovery more difficult, but to make it more meaningful. To replace endless choice with thoughtful curation and create a place where independent outdoor brands can be understood before they're purchased.
Our Philosophy
The products that stay with us rarely do so because they appeared at the top of a search result or found their way into our feed. They become part of our lives because they solve a problem thoughtfully, reflect a point of view, or remind us why we wanted to be outside in the first place.
Those are the stories we're interested in telling.
We believe great brands deserve more than a passing glance. They deserve the opportunity to be understood in context; who created them, why they exist, and the perspective that continues to shape them.
Meaningful discovery takes time.

Our Approach
Highline focuses on one featured brand at a time. Each feature is designed to be experienced over time through original editorial, photography, film, music, and a carefully curated collection of products.
We aren't interested in asking, "What's new?"
We're more interested in asking, "What's worth understanding?"
Discovery begins with curiosity. With conversations. With a founder sharing why they started. With a photograph that captures a feeling. With a playlist that becomes the soundtrack to a road trip or a trail run. With a story that changes how you see a product you've already walked past.
Dispatch explores the ideas shaping outdoor culture. Tuesday Tunes offers a soundtrack inspired by each featured brand. Our photography, films, and field notes are all created with the same purpose: to deepen the connection between people, products, and the places that inspire them.
By slowing the pace of discovery, we hope people leave with something more lasting than a purchase. They leave with a connection to the people, ideas, and experiences behind the brand itself. Because when you understand the story, the product becomes more meaningful.
Where we are going
We're still at the beginning.
Highline will continue to evolve with every featured brand, every story, every conversation, and every person who becomes part of this community.
Our ambition is to become one of the most thoughtful places to discover what's next. A place where independent brands are given the space they deserve. Where stories are valued as much as products. Where curiosity is rewarded, and discovery feels intentional again.
If we've done our job well, you'll leave knowing more than what to buy. You'll leave understanding why it mattered in the first place.
